One dataset is one quantity measured monthly, shipped with its evidence grade, its source, and a citation string. The CSV at this address will not change shape under you.
A recorder is one self-contained measuring machine — its own intake, its own method, its own datasets. We run five, and they share no sources, which is what lets them catch each other. Every recorder carries a permanent call sign — TT-001, TT-005 — so a citation made today still resolves in ten years. The name is for reading; the call sign is for the record.
