Cross-checks

Two recorders that share no machinery measure the same slice of reality — say, container ships calling at Indian ports, counted once from our own AIS recorder and once from US customs records. We run the two series against each other on purpose. Where they track, both gain credibility; where they split, one of them is wrong, and a person looks at which before anything is published. Every comparison below carries a written note — nothing appears here that has not been read by a human. This is the machinery that produced finding F-001.
